e-Shopping
Oberbegriff für alle Arten des Vertriebes von Waren und Dienstleistung unter Zuhilfenahme von elektronischen Medien. Eine gleichzeitige Anwesenheit der beteiligten Partner an einem Ort ist nicht mehr erforderlich.
Neben der gebräuchlichsten Form, die Waren via Internet anzubieten, können die Waren aber auch mittels elektronischer Kataloge oder Multimedia-CDs vertrieben werden. Die letztgenannten Möglichkeiten bieten heute regelmäßig einen Direktanschluss an die Homepage des Herstellers, sei es durch eingearbeitete Links oder selbststartende Übertragungsprogramme.
Für die Übermittlung der Waren werden jedoch weiterhin die konventionellen Distributionswege (Versand) in Anspruch genommen. Allerdings gilt dies nicht für Download-Angebote auf dem Softwaresektor oder gar ASP-Anwendungen, bei denen die Software (die Dienstleistung) gemietet wird.
